Date: 22/09/2016

YORKSHIRE Laser has been busy in recent months completing stainless steel enclosures for the power generation industry as it gears up to one of its busiest times of the year.
Customers in the power generation sector have been turning to Yorkshire Laser because of our wraparound service that provides skilled laser cutting, design, fabrication and installation capacity and our ability to turn projects round reliably, affordably and on short time scales.
But customers want more than cheap enclosures quickly.
Power generation is a critical industry. Business relies on the 24/7 availability of power while the domestic market is gearing up for one of the busiest times of the year when demand on the National Grid soars. Let’s face it we all take roast beef and Yorkshire pud for granted!
But before that happens there is a lot of background work that goes on.
Yorkshire Laser skilled design team understand that enclosures for power generation must be in high quality stainless steel that will weather any inclement climate and bring together the component parts easily and ensure minimal maintenance.
After the design team have created a cabinet that can house and organise the parts then our laser cutting team get to work. Using our Bystronic Bysteed or Bystronic Bystar machinery they can laser profile the enclosures in short timescales using high quality 304 stainless steel.
The parts are then pressed into the correct shapes using one of our 3 state of the art press brakes, with the programmes being created offline on our sophisticated suit of 3M modelling software.
After that the fabrication team take charge skilfully welding the component parts together to create the enclosure.   After paint the whole assembly is built up with the final parts including handles, lock rods, gaskets, gland plates……… the list goes on!  The finished item is then delivered to our customer’s site ready for them to fit the internal electrical componentry.
This ability to do every stage of the process in house has the dual effect of reducing time and saving money to maintain efficient power supplies when and where they are needed.
