What is laser profiling?
Laser profiling is a technique that is constantly developing and changing. The constant demand to mould diverse metals requires that the process is as fast, clean and safe as possible to deliver versatility in all metals quickly and affordably.
At Yorkshire Laser we constantly keep up to date with new and modern techniques, incorporating new developments into our work processes wherever possible. When punching was the popular technique we were early adopters and today still acknowledge its benefits. In recent years however punching has been replaced by laser profiling or cutting simply due to the advances in laser profiling machinery.
Laser profiling is far more versatile and offers cost and flexibility benefits. For example, you can cut any style of intricate shapes without the need for tooling. Yorkshire Laser Fabrication operate two laser profiling machines around the clock five days a week, such as the demand to keep the press and fabrication shop busy.
The precision laser capabilities that our high-spec sheet metal fabrication machinery provides enables us to cut intricate shapes on incredibly thin metal materials. We can achieve results extremely quickly too, giving you a range of benefits including:
- Intricate etchings, markings and detailing
- Cut complicated shapes without the need for expensive tooling
- +/- 0.1mm tolerances in many thicknesses
- Reduced localised heat distortion
- Polished edge finish on stainless steel
