Solving problems through good design is what sets Yorkshire Laser apart and why we’ve designed everything from cryptocurrency cases through to premium architectural designs.

Using the latest suites of high-tech and revolutionary design software options our expert team of CAD engineers can take a basic prototype and create a cutting-edge design that will work across international boundaries.

With more than 24 years’ experience in CAD/CAM design development, sheet metal design and manufacture, Yorkshire Laser’s team of experts deliver the perfect design every time.

But what is CAD/CAM design development and how does this help the design process?

Computer Aided Design (CAD) is the process connected to the actual design stage of your desired part.  This involves creating detailed engineering-level drawings of how you expect the part to look and how it should be constructed.

Yorkshire Laser use SOLIDWORKS as our CAD software of choice, helping us to develop highly detailed drawings for consistency.

Computer Aided Manufacture (CAM) software and hardware does the physical work involved in sheet metal fabrication for you.  The CAM software will drive the physical machinery for the process of cutting to be done as needed.

CAM is used in conjunction with CAD, meaning that even complex designs can be created with a great deal of automation.  CAM is also very precise meaning that even intricate objects can be created using this technique.

It is this state-of-the-art machinery, combined with Yorkshire Laser’s experienced CAD/CAM team, that has helped us solve complex problems for architects and design engineers alike.  Over the years we have been tasked with supplying numerous bespoke design items for high-profile building contractors and iconic landmarks across the country.

No problem is too great, no puzzle too complex for Yorkshire Laser’s team of experienced designers and their software.

Together we can come up with a design plan to suit your exact requirements and component needs. Give us a call today on 01977 553 120 to see what we can do for you.
